Lawn FAQ

Q: How do you determine my price?

A:   Pricing is determined by the size of your lawn and the frequency of service requested.  Our minimum mow price of $35 applies to lawns up to 2000 square feet on a weekly mowing schedule.  Larger lawns and less frequent mowing will be priced accordingly.  For our overgrown lawn service, grass length is also a consideration in pricing.

Q:  How do I sign up?

A:   First you must request an estimate.  We'll use our satellite imaging software to determine your lawn square footage and from there provide a quote for the mow frequency you requested.  After you have approved the quote and we have your payment information on file, service will begin.

Q:  How do I pay?

A:  Payment is accepted by Visa, Mastercard, or e-transfer.  For customers paying with credit card, we require a credit card number on file for service to commence.  We will automatically charge your account immediately after a service is performed.

For customers who prefer to pay using e-transfer, we will invoice you within 24 hours following each service visit.  E-transfer payment must be received before the next scheduled service date to continue receiving services on schedule.

Q:  When do you start services?  When does the mowing season end?

A:  We get started when the snow has melted and the ground is dry.  Typically this is around mid-May.  We will send you a notification when we are about to start services.  Services will always be provided through to the end of September.  Depending on weather patterns, some years we may continue mowing into October in order to properly prepare your lawn for winter.

Q:  Which day of the week will my lawn be mowed?

A:  We work Monday through Fridays, using Saturdays when necessary to help make up for any rain delays.  We will provide you with a specific weekly or bi-weekly service day for your lawn.  Unfortunately, due to our route schedules we are not able to accommodate customer requests for your lawn to be mowed on a specific day of the week.

Q:  What happens when it rains?

A:  Heavy rain is the most common cause of any delays with your mowing.  Typically, if it rains heavily on your regular service day, we will be there the next day, weather permitting.   We will notify you of any schedule adjustments due to weather delays.

Q:  Does someone need to be home when you mow?

A:  Nobody has to be home when your lawn is mowed.  All we need is access to all areas of your property that have grass.

Q:  Do you remove weeds, animal droppings, fruit or other debris from my lawn?

A:  Removal of animal droppings, fallen fruit, weeds or other debris from your lawn are not included in our lawn mowing service.   If you require these additional services, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance of your service date to see if we can accommodate your needs.  Any additional services provided will be subject to an extra charge.

Q:  What if I need to skip a mow?

A:  If for any reason you would like us to skip a scheduled service visit, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance. After a skip, your service will be picked back up on the next scheduled service date for your yard.

Q: What if I am not happy with a service?

A:  We strive for your complete satisfaction with every service we provide.  If you are not happy with a service performed on your property, please contact us right away, so that we can correct the issue.  We will come back to correct any reasonable service issues, without any additional charges, provided that you contact us within 24 hours of the service.  Otherwise, we will consider the work satisfactory.

Q:  What if I need to cancel your services?

A:  We hope that you stay with us for the entire season, and we promise to make every effort to earn your loyalty.  Having said that, if for any reason you need to cancel our services, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance.  No same day cancellations will be accepted.

Snow Removal FAQ

Q:  Do I have to sign up for the entire winter season?

A:  Yes. We provide flat rate contracts that cover you throughout the season for a fixed price, no matter how often it snows.  We do not offer any per visit clearing, instead choosing to concentrate on delivering a consistently high level of service to our seasonally contracted clients.

Q:  What is the term of your contract?

A:   Service begins on November 1 and ends on March 31 of each calendar year.   During this period, our contracted properties are cleared automatically every time there is a two centimeter or more snow accumulation - without any need to call.

Q:   How do I sign up?

A:   First you must request an estimate.   Included in your quote package is our written service agreement which will detail your seasonal price, payment schedule, and terms of service.  Once we have received your signed agreement and pre-payment for the first month of service, your service will commence.

Q:  When do I pay?   What forms of payment do you accept?

A: Payment is accepted by Visa, Mastercard, or e-transfer.  For customers paying with credit card, we require a credit card number on file for service.  We will charge your account for pre-payment of the first month of service of service as a deposit upon receipt of your signed service agreement.  We will then automatically charge your account for each subsequent monthly payment on the first of each month throughout the term of service.

For customers who prefer to pay using e-transfer, we will require the first month of service be pre-paid as a deposit upon signing your service agreement.  We will then invoice you for subsequent monthly payments by the 15th of each month.  E-transfer payment must be received by the end of each month to avoid service interruptions.

Q:  How quickly do you arrive after a snowfall?

A:   Snow removal begins when there is more than 2 cm of fresh snow accumulation and the snowfall has ended.  We will have your property cleared of snow within 24 hours after the snow has finished falling.

Q:  Do I need to be at home when you come to clear?

A:  No, once the account is set up you do not need to be home for us to take care of the property.

Q:  Do you remove hard-packed snow or ice buildup?

A:  Our snow removal service will remove all fresh snowfall.  Our service does not include removing hard-packed snow which may have built up on your property as a result of foot/vehicle traffic or frozen snow/ice.

Q:  Do you apply salt or sand?

A:  No, we don’t apply salt or sand. Salt is corrosive and can eat away at your concrete and kill grass that borders areas where applied.  Sand may track inside the house causing messes, and can collect outdoors into drains and drainage areas.   For these reasons we have opted not to utilize sand or salt in our snow removal service.

Q:  How can I ensure my property will be fully cleared of snow at each service call?

A:  In order to ensure your driveway can be fully cleared of snow, we ask that you keep your driveway free of vehicles until it has been cleared.  If we find parked vehicles in your driveway, we will work around them to the best of our abilities.

In order to ensure that all entrances and steps can be fully cleared of snow, we ask that you keep these areas free of articles such as outdoor furniture, sports equipment, etc.   We will work around such obstacles to the best of our abilities, but will not move or re-arrange your property.

Q:  Do you do commercial snow removal?

A:  No, we have chosen to focus on providing excellent service to our residential accounts.
